R M Sanghavi, B Com, FCA qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1946 and established SANGHAVI & CO. in 1950 , which was also the year in which the Institute of Chartered Accountants was established in India, the first firm of Chartered Accountants in Saurashtra and amongst the few 100 in the entire country of India at that time.
He was a partner for over forty-eight years having specialized in the field of Business consulting, Statutory and Tax Audits, Tax Planning and Tax Consulting.
He was a member of the first Direct Tax Advisory Committee and the Founder President of Rajkot Branch of WIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
He was the past president of Rotary Club of Rajkot and Tax Consultants Society. He was associated with many social organizations and charitable trusts. He was a member of advisory committee of Ramakrishna Ashram, Rajkot and the Founder Chairman of Ashok Gondhia Memorial Trust which operated and managed what is now Virani-Wockhardt Hospital-the first multi-specialty hospital in Saurashtra providing medical care of the highest standards.
